Princess

As she gambolled on the busy streets of Cloud cuckoo land,
She was as happy as if she were in seventh heaven.
She beamed to all and sundry on her way.
In return, each twinkled their graceful smile.
While the eighth bell struck,
She left on her carefree journey to the esplanade.
Through the glittering parade with her dear teddy.
A tad bit later, she bumped into a charismatic being.
Her face turned scarlet and not to seem obvious
She continued with her prancing after stealing a final glance.
At the garden she ate her favourite doughnuts
And spent the afternoon with the kids in the park.
She was a joy to see and the people who saw her,
Wondered if she was Alice or something similar.
She was breathtaking to watch while she jumped in joy.
After playing for long, Miss wonderful felt exhausted than ever before.
She strolled back while the dusk approached
Bringing with it the bareness
Seeming like a whole new world.
Though tired, she managed to put up a smile on her gentle face
To which some never acknowledged and some simpered.
The sly smile seemed very superficial and deceptive.
The empty lanes were gloomy and panicky.
She felt awful at the feel of darkness that spread ubiquitously.
Her toy squeezed between her hands,
She tramped her way through the dingy boulevard.
What she considered as a charisma once,
Seemed to be an illusion that terrorized her.
The sly smiles made her feel heartsick.
She had never felt more insecure in her microcosm.
She craved for being shielded,
But there was not a soul for her rescue.
The weather and the world turned demoniac to her.
She was left on the road, vulnerable and helpless.
The agony in her still open eyes was heart piercing.
This would be termed as a misfortune
And let into thin air without justice gained.
It is disheartening that this has become a routine
Yet no one is able to penalize the guilty.
All the charming little girls want to be lost in their dreamland.
Why don't you let her be the Princess she wants to be?
